Description: The video shows the first five minutes of the film. Film synopsis: Friedemann Bach, the eldest son of the famous Johann Sebastian, is highly gifted, but cannot develop his talent in the shadow of his overbearing father. After a promising debut at the Saxon court, he falls in love with a dancer and composes a ballet for her. But due to the intrigue of another woman he has to leave Dresden. Further failures and humiliations turn the desperate man into a cheat: he passes off a composition by his father as his own. Unstable and without friends, he roams the streets with other musicians. When he tries to defend the name of his father, he is killed in a quarrel. Films from the National-Socialist period must be considered in the context of state-influenced production and reception.
